Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka is from Belarus and was born in Minsk. She was the daughter of Sergey (d. 2019.) was an ice hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka was born Minsk, Belarus on May 5th, 1998. Aryna's Sabalenka holds 12 WTA Singles titles. One of which was the "Grand Slam" during the Australian Open 2023. Doubles is another area where she shines. In the US Open 2019, and Australian Open 2021, US Open 2019, and Australian Open 2021 were both won with Elise Mertens. In addition to the Belgian tennis player, she was also the winner of her the WTA 1000 in Indian Wells as well as Miami in 2019 thus making her the Sunshine Double. This feat was accomplished by four couples in the women's doubles. In January of 2023 she reached her highest ranking in singles. On the 23rd of August in 2021, she shot to second place in the ranks. Her climb to the top of the doubles ranking in the following year, after taking the title in Melbourne. That made her the only Belarusian tennis player to have success on the court. Dmitry Tursunov, a former Russian tennis player, played with her from the 2018 season up to the final and the beginning of the 2020 season. Dieter Kindlmann served a brief time as her coach in August of 2020 until September. At the time of her retirement, she's been trained by her fellow countryman Antonio Dubrov. Serena Williams, and Maria Sharapova are her idols.
